Most Popular Questions

Emergency room doctors treat over 4,000 individuals each year for injuries caused by faulty electrical outlets—don’t let anyone in your family fall victim to an electrical accident. Electrical fires and related injuries can be prevented by properly inspecting the outlet receptacles in your New England home. Some signs of burning include, but not limit to, discoloration of wall outlets and / or a burning smell. Immediately shut off your breaker before having a potential fire and contact us. In the U.S., most houses burn due to faulty wiring.

It’s not uncommon for homeowners to immediately spot an electrical issue. Any good handyman will tell you that they can fix it themselves without a problem. Unfortunately, there is a problem. Handymen are not qualified to handle electrical work. Electricians have to undergo years of extensive training and certification processes to obtain his or her license. Sure, a license may seem like a piece of paper, but that paper is something that can save your life. With that being said, we highly recommend to contact us so we can help diagnose your problem.
Your first option is to check the circuit breaker box. The rows and rows of switches make it almost impossible to guess which one is linked to which appliance, so naturally, most people just flip the switches that are out of alignment to get everything working again. However, we should warn you this doesn’t always solve your problem. Of course, certain rooms tend to draw more power than others, which explains the layout of the circuit breaker box. If you plug in too many items into an outlet in a room that isn’t connected to a more dedicated circuit rating, then there’s a chance that the circuit breaker kicks in to protect the wires from overloading. In this case, troubleshooting is simple retrace your steps to find the offending appliance. There can also be a ground fault or arc fault. The best thing to do is to contact us so we can help diagnose the problem so that you have a piece of mind.
Have you noticed that all or some of your lights have been flickering? In most cases, it can be a faulty light bulb, but in other cases it can mean something more serious—and potentially dangerous. In most cases, flickering lights are not a problem with your wiring, but with the bulb itself. Make sure the bulb is secure in its connection, and then check the filament within the bulb (if it’s an incandescent bulb). If necessary, replace the bulb. If that does not work, contact us.
When you reach to your light switch to turn it off, only to find that it is hot to the touch, you have a problem. This is not a normal phenomenon, and it indicates that there are serious issues hiding behind your walls. If you don’t get help right away, you could end up facing a serious electrical fire in your home. That is why we recommend shutting off your breaker and contact us so that we help prevent a possibly devastating house fire.
